Founded in 2005, the Louisville Tutoring Agency (LTA) was established with the goal of offering the Louisville community an alternative to the franchise style of tutoring that is prevalent today.
Our Mission Statement
The founders of the Agency strive to offer the nation’s highest levels of academic rigor and achievement, while at the same time preserving an individualized approach characteristic of Louisville and its environs.
The LTA Approach
The Agency and its tutors recognize that each student has his or her own learning needs, goals, and skills. Therefore, we work to provide the one-on-one support needed to nurture these individualities. Each student’s goals are important whether they simply want to succeed in a specific class or gain admission to a selective university. For this reason, the Agency has developed a variety of programs designed to optimize a students learning potential.
Departments
The Agency offers academic tutoring and instruction in a variety of subjects to students of all levels and ages. There are six departments within the Agency focusing on the following :
- Elementary Education – establishing a solid academic foundation
- Middle School Education – building the skills necessary for success in high school
- High School Education – preparing for college acceptance and success at the college level
- College Education – developing a sound knowledge of a given discipline or academic field
- Graduate Education – gaining mastery in a given discipline or academic field
- Adult/Continuing Education – acquiring new skills or enhancing current knowledge base
Our Tutors and Staff
LTA is proud to staff these departments with the tutors of the highest caliber. Our tutors are highly experienced teachers in their academic fields, having exceptional credentials from teaching certification to Ivy League and graduate degrees. The Agency focuses on providing caring, patient tutors while also ensuring the safety of our students by performing mandatory criminal background checks and drug screening on all tutors and agency staff. LTA tutors are highly results-oriented, realizing that results are necessary for academic success and always lead to increased confidence.
Special Needs
Some LTA tutors also have specialized backgrounds, including experience with learning challenged students. Through our partnership with Dr. Larry Raskin of the Psychology Resource Group, which specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of learning challenges, our tutors are able to reach students other tutoring agencies are unable to help.
Giving Back to the Community
The Agency has also instituted volunteer programs to give back to the community. We have partnered with the Catholic Enrichment Center, a division of the Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville, to provide free tutoring to underprivileged youth in downtown Louisville.
